At what age should my children first see a dentist?
At Testerman Dental, we believe good dental health begins in childhood. Teaching your children good dental habits now means they can have healthy teeth and gums for life. Your child’s first dental visit should take place by the age of three. Don’t forget to ask about our “No Cavity Club.”
Yes! Your referrals are the best compliments we can receive! So, if you have any family or friends in need of a great dentist, be sure to have them call us. We appreciate your concern for others and your ongoing confidence in us. Ask about our “Care to Share” program.
What different payment options do you accept?

How can I ask the doctors questions directly?
Dr. Gregg and Dr. Bradd each recognize the importance of the dentist-patient relationship. During your first visit to our office, you will meet with your new dentist to discuss your history, outline your oral health and aesthetic goals, and address any other questions, concerns, or apprehensions you may have about dental treatment. Because our best patients are informed patients, our doctors are pleased to provide complimentary consultations to all our patients of record.
Dr. Gregg and Dr. Bradd are also available, as needed, to answer your questions about dental treatment and oral health. They can be reached during business hours by phoning the office or by email. We truly appreciate your interest, so all calls and emails are promptly returned.

My gums bleed after I brush. Is this something to be concerned about?
Generalized bleeding of the gums after brushing is a sign of gum disease — an infection that threatens the attachment between teeth and supporting structures like the soft tissue and bone that surround them. With early and regular treatment, gum disease is reversible. Allowed to progress, it can result in tooth and bone loss. Further, periodontal disease has been associated with several serious illnesses, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
If your gums bleed, contact our office today to schedule an appointment with one of our dentists. Our soft-tissue management program can help keep you smiling for a long, long time.
I really do not like visiting the dentist. Is there anything you can do to help me relax?
Your comfort and security are of utmost importance to us. At Testerman Dental, we understand that some patients may be anxious about receiving dental care. We have incorporated a number of technologies, such as digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, music, and relaxation videos to help reduce or detract from some of the discomfort associated with dental visits, and we offer a number of sedation techniques for those who are particularly apprehensive.
Oral anti-anxiety medications, such as Valium, may be prescribed, and nitrous oxide is also available during treatment. In addition, we are also equipped to provide conscious sedation, which is IV-administered. Unlike general anesthesia, in which a patient is unable to breathe without assistance, conscious sedation allows you to remain awake, relaxed, and pain-free, while still being able to respond to instructions like "open" and "close."
If you feel you suffer from unmanageable anxiety over dental visits, discuss this problem with Dr. Gregg or Dr. Bradd. They can help manage this condition for the benefit of both your oral health and your emotional well-being.
I want my front teeth to look better, but I do not want to wear braces. What would you recommend?
Before ruling out braces completely, you should know that orthodontics have come a long way since the days of heavy metal wires and brackets. Testerman Dental uses the Invisalign® system to correct dental imperfections like gaps, crooked teeth, and crowding. Unlike traditional wire braces, Invisalign® uses a series of custom-made, transparent aligners that are worn for two weeks at a time. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little-by-little, week-by-week — until they have straightened to their final position. They are also removable, so you can take them out to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Total treatment time averages nine to 15 months, with an average number of 18-30 aligners worn during treatment. Office visits are scheduled about once every six weeks to ensure that treatment is progressing as planned.
If Invisalign® requires more time and expense than you're willing to commit to, other cosmetic dentistry techniques may better suit your needs. Schedule a consultation with your Testerman Dental dentist today to discuss your goals and treatment options.
A smile analysis determines the proper aesthetics for your facial symmetry, lip line, and phonetics. Each person has a unique "perfect" smile — one proportional and flattering to their face. With a smile analysis, we can show you what your best smile can look like.
Smile design uses available cosmetic and restorative techniques to create your “perfect” smile. The result is a beautiful new smile with comfortable neuromuscular occlusion. Most patients also see an immediate increase in confidence and in social acceptance. For the dentist, creation of a positive physical change in patients is indeed rewarding, but witnessing the psychological and emotional components of work well done is truly exhilarating. At Testerman Dental, dentistry is not simply repair and maintenance. We strive to help improve our patients' lives by helping to improve their self images.
I've been told that I can't wear dentures. Is there anything you can do to help?
In some patients who suffer tooth loss from severe periodontal disease, infection may have eroded the jawbone so that it cannot securely support a denture. Dr. Gregg and Dr. Bradd have been treating difficult denture cases for many years. Schedule an appointment today to see if our denture services can help strengthen your smile and enhance your quality of life.
My child had an accident and his/her tooth has been knocked out. What do I do?
In dental emergencies, fast action may save the tooth, prevent infection, and reduce the need for extensive dental treatment. Call our Lebanon, OH office immediately to arrange a same-day visit. In the meantime, if the missing tooth is a primary (baby) tooth, rinse the mouth with water and apply cold compresses to reduce swelling. If a permanent tooth has been knocked out, find the tooth, rinse it gently in cool water, and replace it in the socket, if possible. If the tooth can't be set into the socket, place it in a clean container filled with enough milk or water to cover the tooth. Likewise, if a tooth is chipped or broken, call our office immediately.
